EZGO elite dash

Im looking into buying one of those prefab elite dashes for an EZGO TXT with the speaker holes and stereo holes pre-cut. The dimensions it gives for the speakers are 6 inches. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these dashes and if so, will a 6.5" speaker be able to fit in there or is there no room for a bigger size. Whats the best place to shop for speakers? Thanks in advance.

I have done a few of these and I always stuck with the 6" speakers.

That being said, I personally HATE this dash. You have to carve a lot of the factory dash apart to install these and securing the radio head unit is a pain in the backside.

When you say carve it away, is it anything that a sawzall will not take care of?
Does it have a good enough seal to make the speakers sound decent?

you have to carve from almost glove box to glove box on it and yes, a sawzall will make most of the cuts.

Personally I didn't enjoy the sound. I think there are better options out there that don't require you to destroy the cart.
