Straping down 7th battery on TXT
Converting 2010 EZGO TXT cart to 42 volt. whats the best way to strap down the 7th battery on the driver side? I purchased the battery strap kit but rods were too short. Any advise and suggestions would be appreciated.

Without knowing what the kit looks like, possibly trying to use some Allthread to either extend the rods or make new ones out of.

Auto Zone sold a battery top frame with 2 bolt tabs. It was rubberized and I used 1/4 all thread from Lowes to secure it to the floor.

Re: Straping down 7th battery on TXT
You handy with a welding machine? I built one out of some 1" flat bar and a couple of pieces of angle. Strapped it down with some 5/16" all thread. I put a wood block in front of the battery screwed to the floor pan to keep the battery from sliding forward. It hasn't moved yet and mine gets run hard on and off road. It's a hack job but it works

Re: Straping down 7th battery on TXT
I used two 4in wide L brackets bolted to the floor at the same width as the battery. Used zip ties over the battery to secure it. Hasnt budged at all but I only drive on the street.
I wouldnt do 42V again. Go straight to 48V since youre going to do it anyway |

Thanks for the advice. Cart already had 6 new 6 volt batteries. Just had to buy the extra battery and purchased a 42 volt charger. Cart now goes 20mph.

Are you able to get the threaded rod with rod couplers and jam nuts at home depot or lowes?
