Stock Chaser trobleshooting
We have AN EZGO stockchaser at work. Charged it as usual, step on accelerator and it moved 10 feet and stopped. Now no movement at all.
Troubleshooting done so far: Batteries, 6.2v each. 25.1 total. Connected battery charger directly to the motor. wheels turn. Trying to test the speed controller, but everything I read says the solenoid should click when the accelerator is pressed. This one clicks when the key is turned on. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Stock Chaser trobleshooting
The solenoid shouldn't click until pedal is pressed. Perhaps the pedal switch failed in the past and someone bypassed it as a "temporary" fix and never got around to replacing the switch.
The attached service manual might help. |

Re: Stock Chaser trobleshooting
The solenoid clicks when they key is turned if I have the pedal switch open or closed. Checked continuity on the switch and solenoid and both appear to be functioning.

Yet 25 volts is still pretty low. |

Re: Stock Chaser trobleshooting
After reading the manual it's running like new!
If you are referring to an OPERATION manual, we don't have on. IF you referring to the SERVICE manual, I did. (THANKS to JonnieB for posting it) I cannot find a specific voltage it should have per battery or total Thanks for the awesome advice. |

I'm going to charge it and check again. this is my first time working on an electric cart. I'm guessing the voltage should be 6.6 x 4. and 26.4 total? |

Re: Stock Chaser trobleshooting
The at-rest voltage for a 6V Lead-Acid, Wet-Cell, Deep-Cycle battery varies from brand to brand with Trojan batteries being the lowest and US Battery being the highest.
Attachment-1 is for Trojan and Attachment-2 is for US Battery. In either case, 6.2V is only about 70% SoC (State of Charge) A fully charged 24V pack made up of Trojan batteries is 25.48V and with US Battery is 25.64V. Also attached is a parts manual for a Stock Chaser. I don't have a Owners manual in my stash. |
