It wont hurt anything if it's not hooked up. It just will be fast in reverse

That's why you shouldn't unhook the reverse buzzer. That's how you know when your in reverse

I didn't need a buzzer to tell me I was in reverse at that point...

Been there, done that, hit a neighbor's cart who parked in front of me in the driveway. He'll never park anywhere me again, and I reconnected the beeper/buzzer.
