I’ve ordered brackets and bag holders to remove the back seat and components. So hopefully I’ll save some weight there.

Does the Curtis 1205m need reprogramming to go from 36 to 48, or can I just plug and play? This is a ‘03 series txt.

Do I need to do anything to the stock motor, or will it be fine?

I’ll be ordering a new solenoid.

Thanks for all the help.

Look at that controller & solenoid voltage rating before you make a move on new batteries.

The controller says 36-48v.
Current: 500A
Model:1205m-5605

I’m not sure about the solenoid. Will the controller work?

Yes the controller is rated for 36-48 volts
The solenoid should have a similar voltage rating sticker.

Solenoid says 36v.
So looks like I’ll need a solenoid. What else ?

Possibly battery interconnecting cables. 8 v batteries have their posts different than 6 v. Kinda depends on how much slack you have. Don't risk it if they barely fit, as they do move around some.

Also, pack positive and/or negative "may" need to be longer. ScottyB can hook you up if you post a photo.
