Re: How do you measure speed?
Mathematically, going from 20" tire height to a 23" tire height increases speed by 15% and reduces torque by 13%.
If your top speed was 16 MPH on 20" tires, it ought to be about 18.4 MPH on 23" tires. I'm not sure what the gear ratio or the advertised speed for a Express S4 HO is, the brochure says 12.44:1 gears and 16 MPH, while the Owner's manual says 14.76:1 gears and 17.5 MPH I'm also not sure which Sepex controller is used. It is a 400A unit, so it isn't a Curtis 1206HB (250A). Maybe it is a Curtis 1264? ----------- FWIW, I use a automotive type GPS to check speed these days, but I have used a stopwatch to time how long it takes the cart to go a measured distance. Re: How do you measure speed?
It is a Curtis and looks like a 1268 best I can tell upside down and sideways with a mirror
My calculations match yours as far as percentages and your right the owners manual says 17.5 mph. I havent't tested it with the speed app on level ground but going up a pretty good grade I hit 17 mph. |
