Problem with forward and reverse
Hello. I have finished installing an Alltrax XCT 400 controller and an SW 180 solenoid on my ezgo golf cart, I only have one problem , when I put the F/R ( rocker) in neutral and depress the throttle pedal, the moves in reverse. All else seems ok, wanted to try and fix this before I took it out too far Thanks

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
What does it do when the switch is actually in reverse? Does it go forward when the switch is in forward?

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
When in forward, works great, when in reverse works great—— after I had to reverse the wires on the controller, they had the colours reversed, it’s just when it’s in neutral that it is messed up

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
Does the key prevent it from going? If so, you're safe for the holiday weekend. Just keep your key in your pocket.
Holiday weekends get slow around here. Someone will help you. "they had the colours reversed", who is "they"? The diagram? |

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
The F/R switch might be bad. When in neutral, there shouldn't be any voltage on the top or bottom terminal.

I wondered about the switch, but it’s new—- I’ll try the old one again

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
Yes, connected the wires as stated, but they were reversed, unless mine were on wrong, but I don’t think so

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
The internal wiring of the XCT is slightly different than the stock PDS controller, the controller powers up when the key is turned on rather than having the key on and a direction selected, but it still defaults to forward and has to be told to go in Reverse by putting a voltage on J1 Pin-2 (J1 is called C1 on Alltrax XCT schematics)
On the F/R switch with wires connected, only the center terminal should have voltage on it when in Neutral. |

Re: Problem with forward and reverse
I'm with Johnnie on this. The PDS F&R switch may be bad or corrosion has grown to fuse two posts ?
