Default Question regarding LG chem batteries

Looking on batteryhookup.com’s web site and I see a 48 volt LG chem battery with 40 AH. I understand I would need to add A BMS, breaker and charger Just wondering what the thoughts are on these units. Should I just buy a cart specific unit, or is it ok to build your own?

Default Re: Question regarding LG chem batteries

I built my own using those exact cells. I built 2 x 48v batteries so I would have 80Ah total. That's a total of 28 cells. They're really simple to work with. You'll want to use threaded rod to hold them in compression and you'll need to make busbars. I will say they're heavy. But they work just fine for my stock Club Car/Carryall 6.

Having said that, I recently just purchased some new Samsung DSI, 94Ah cells. I'm in the process of finishing that pack and I'll let you know how it works. It's a little more money out of pocket, but they're supposedly new, never cycled cells with full capacity.
