Mike
How many bolts and nuts did you twist off taking that thing apart? Mine was enough of a challenge to get it apart, and I got lucky (got them all out) but yours looks so much worse.
Coming along great tho. Mike

Not sure, but a lot. I can say this though WD-40 and a reciprocating saw to cut rusted bolts were very helpful. I just can't wait to grind and blast all that rust off. There might not be anything left when I'm done.

You probably don't have to much more to go before it starts to become fun!
Have you got the front sus. apart, that may be a BIT(H? And then the motor. Then your about home free.
Good work!

I have the motor somewhat taken apart but I'm concentrating my efforts on getting the frame done. I'm going to tear off the front end tomorrow night. It actually doesn't look to bad. One thing I did notice is there is a lot of play in the steering. Anything you can think of that I need to check? I'm guessing once I get ot torn apart I will notice something out of place.

You will Mike, check the king pin bushings, tie rod ends, and the small 10 mm nut and set screw, that set the preload on the pitman shaft. Those 3 things should pretty much fix that problem. Unless something is broke or bent.

So I spent several hours grinding, sandblasting and pressure washing the back end. I managed to get it primered. Looks much better.

And this is what awaits me tomorrow...

Haven't had any major problems yet. It's actually been fun. I'm starting to think now of what I want the finished product to look like.

I'm not going for show quality here. Just something to putt around the yard, neighborhood, campground or wherever. Right now I'm thinking about a 6 inch lift, backseat, stereo system. I definitley want a nice paint job. I plan on doing a basecoat/clearcoat on the body itself. I'm thinking either Lime Green/Black or Orange/Black maybe Yellow/Black. Heck I don't know. Definitley going to have some flames and maybe a skull or two. I've always wanted to give airbrushing a try.

I'm going to somewhat build a stereo system for it. I built an audiopipe for my ATV and I'll probably use the same components. Not sure how the videos work on this site, but if it works, here is a video of my ATV stereo system.

sounds like a good plan. I always say if ya do it right once then you wont have to do it a second time and it looks like you agree with that.
