New vs. Rebuilt Controller?
I'm in the market for a new controller and need some advice.
I can purchase a rebuilt Curtis 1204-027 (275 amp, 36volt) with a 2yr warranty for $25.00 less(after $50.00 core exchange) than I can buy a new Alltrax NPX 4834 (300 amp, 48v) with a 1yr warranty. I don't have any experience with either and the cart belongs to my MIL so there will be no future upgrades or accessories added.(It's just used to put around the property, check mail etc.) What's your thoughts? |

Re: New vs. Rebuilt Controller?
The voltage is different so if you use the Alltrax you will need 2 more batteries. That will up the speed and duration or run time.

Re: New vs. Rebuilt Controller?
The NPX4834 is a 36-48 volt controller.
That's a coin toss. Both bottom are bottom level controllers. I think you will see better service and performance from the AXE4834 or better yet 4844 |

Re: New vs. Rebuilt Controller?
Thanks for all the input guys. The problem that I have is a bad plug diode in controller between B+ and A2. I was able to remove the 2 wires from A2 on controller and connect them together thus bypassing the HPD and the cart is up and running. P.S.---- I guess that I won't be needing the (2) extra batteries after all......

I would buy the Alltrax. If for nothing else it is new. Also if you ever sell it, that will be a benefit.
