Ignition Switch Wiring Question
This should be a simple question:
I have a 36 volt cart with lights (3-way switch with 4 connectors B, I, L B1). I pulled the dash off to install a radio, and before I could look at the back of the ignition switch I had accidentally pulled all 4 wires off of it. I just need to put them back on in the correct spots. I have searched this forum high and low and cant find a pic or complete answer, can someone please tell me how to reconnect this switch? I don't want to burn anything up. I found a wiring diagram on here but it's not the same and I don't have any yellow wires. I have a blue wire (1) and a green wire (2) coming in together in a plastic protector. Two red wires (3)combined that go to the lights. A Green wire (4) that goes directly to the battery via inline fuse. Thank you |

Re: Ignition Switch Wiring Question
Welcome to BGW!
As you've discovered, it is a good idea to label all wires before removing them. Taking pictures also works, but be sure to get a couple different angles. EZGO used different wire colors in the wiring harness of different type carts, so It is best to mention the Year, Body style and Drive type when asking questions. You've got a Blue and Green wire bundled together in the wiring harness at the Keyswitch, so you've got a cart with a series wound motor, commonly simply called a series cart. The Blue and Green wires go to the I and B terminals (36V) The RED and Green wires for the lights go to the B1 and L terminals. (12V) Factory wiring for the lights would be Blu/Wht, so you probably have aftermarket lighting. |

Re: Ignition Switch Wiring Question
Thank you both so much!
I replaced the switch last year and took pics before taking it out (which were deleted long ago), but this time I took the whole dash out and before I knew it......completely unplugged. Thanks again, |
