kunckle joint on control arm 96 carryall
Hello all, new to the forum here and have a question...
I work part time in maintence (I am actually a chef but work in maintence when the kitchen is slow) at a banquet facility where we have several golf carts (mostly gas). In the past we have out sourced the repairs on these carts and not bothered to work on them. With costs what they are these days however we are doing more and more ourselves which includes working on the carts. Right now I have a 96 carryall that needs the knuckle joint replaced on the front end (passenger side). I am not sure how to tackle this. Does the entire control arm need to be removed? And if so how? Also where can I reseach information about our various carts and find out how to do more repairs? We have a small scrap yard of dead carts I can pull parts from or perhaps even revive a few carts if I can just find info on how to do things. Thanks in advance... Rhydderch |

Perhaps, it's the rod that turns the wheels I believe....
The head of maintence just came up to me today and handed me the new part and said.. "Here figure out how to put this on sometime this week" and handed me the knuckle joint then pointed to where it goes... I asked him if he knew how how to do it and he said no.... |

Get him to buy you a service manual. It's not just a stick it on and go!
The tie rod will have either right or left hand threads. After you have replaced it you will need to align the frontend so it tracks properly. |

I assume there is no online reference manuals or places to get detailed instructions? Getting the owners of this place to part with money is a pain at times. After all they have a chef working as a mechanic now....lol!
