I am going to install my kit tomorrow. I was wondering how your got the pulley off? Did you need a puller? I tried to just pull mine off by hand and no luck. I also beat it a bit with a rubber hammer but still no luck. So I just made a puller. Did you install the kit and reinstall the pulley? I read the directions from sprindle a few days ago but unsure about the rachet strap. Where exactly does it go? Pictures would be great if you have them. Anyrhing to make the job easier. I did have to use a puller and then it took a little help from a hammer to get the pulley off. Mine was stuck on there pretty good. Quote:
I installed the spacer, new spring, and then the new inside machined pulley that all came int he kit. I used the ratchet strap to put it all back together. I don't know if I did it like everyone else or not but it worked for me. I put the ratchet strap around the passenger side shock and around the inner clutch plate. I made sure not to cover the opening for the shaft to come through. I would tighten the strap a little and tap the clutch plate to stop it from binding, tighten the strap, tap with hammer, tighten the strap, tap with hammer, etc. Then I put the plastic washer (spacer) on the shaft, then the key in the shaft, and then the outer clutch plate. Once the nut was back on I took the ratchet strap out of the way and torqued the nut to spec. I hope this is some help, I am sorry I did not take pictures. It was not that hard to do, just take your time and ask questions if you get stuck. David |

![]() Just make sure the strap does not go up against anything that it could damage like the shifter cables or brake cables. Run it around something very sturdy like part of the frame if you can. You will have to crank it down a little at a time and then kind of tap on the sheave to move it back every so often: it will get kind of crooked after you crank down on the strap some. Be sure you install the outer sheave all the way with the half moon key in place. You should have about 1/2 an inch of threads left sticking out on the shaft when finished tightening up the lock nut.
