Re: Yamaha clutch is acting really weird
Spray the shaft with Blaster and let it sit while you build your puller.

Re: Yamaha clutch is acting really weird
I had one that was on so tight I made and bent two pullers and didn't get mine off. I ended up using a regular puller and longer screws then had to tap my clutch to get it off.

Re: Yamaha clutch is acting really weird
I've also heard that a steering wheel puller works great too. However I never tried it.

Re: Yamaha clutch is acting really weird
Since you're going to take that clutch apart you should consider changing that OEM spring to a U max spring. The torque difference is like night and day and you won't lose any top end. I actually changed my white CPP torque spring to a U max spring. I think the white spring actually caused my sliding sheave to shatter.

Re: Yamaha clutch is acting really weird
Since you already have the newer style sliding sheave, you should get the newer style spring seat (more durable sliders). You really badly need the spacer to replace the c-clip (the clip i suspect is gone, it sure aint doing its job). Might also need a input shaft seal with all that crud laying around down there. With the spring removed, check the sliding sheave on the input shaft for wobble and smooth operation. Now would be the time for that U-max spring. As stated above, the white spring is too heavy & can result in a broken sliding sheave.
