Switching PDS drive modes
I don't recall where on here that I read someone that used an external switch to change Controller program modes on a PDS cart???
Anyone here do this? Can these modes be switched on the fly so to speak? It would be nice if I could have the "Freedom" mode and the wife a slower mode with regen...... I've got the whole cart apart and now would be the time to do this. A switch on the dash? |

Re: Switching PDS drive modes
Thanks Gorno but really wasn't looking to buy anything as I'm quite savvy when it comes to electrical "stuff".
I was just wondering if the program modes can be switched on the "fly" or if they only take effect after a power down, then power up of the controller. I have ample "stuff" to implement this if need be depending on how many modes I wish to employ. I know the wiring of the "chip" and can work as many combo's as I feel practical. Some I'll likely never use so I won't bother, or not....depends. Maybe use a BCD switch on the dash.....or just a simple rocker, or two... Comments? |

Re: Switching PDS drive modes
I am considering setting my cart up with a simple run/tow switch and a freedom chip. Sort of a 'high/low' switch. A run/tow switch is a 2 pole switch so the freedom 2 wire chip can be interrupted on the fly.... as you say. Maybe Andy will give us some in site here on how these work?

Re: Switching PDS drive modes
Are you going to tag the switch 'his' & 'hers' ?
I am thinking 'Hi ~ Low' on mine ... |

Re: Switching PDS drive modes
My understanding of the PDS system is the controller must power down to make the switch. You stop, switch to TOW, select your PDS profile, switch back to Run, and carry on driving.

Don't want to have to remember to go under the seat everytime she drives the cart though. |

Re: Switching PDS drive modes
I have had some owner sware they can switch between mods but my 04 has to be cut off before it will change. Not neccsary to put in tow but the factory says so in the manual. Move the tow switch to dash as my harnes does. I have one ready to ship if you want one.
