Re: G1 Oil Seal Replacement- Fan Side
I know this post is a bit old. But I used this info to get to the seals in my friends g1. His seals and bearings were shot so I had to split the cases. But anyway. I recently bought a g1 for use while camping. It had been sitting for 10 yrs so I disassembled to inspect/replace the seals as a preventative measure. However the seals look great. But.... the fan side seal seems to be set in a lot more then both this write up and my friends seals. His cart Is a 1983 and mine is a 1982 however from what I have found the 82 lower end and block are the same as other g1.

Re: G1 Oil Seal Replacement- Fan Side
I just did mine and the lip for the seal is wider than seal. I just set mine so it was fush with the out side of the case. My flywheel was pain to get off had to heat with a torch several times.

Re: G1 Oil Seal Replacement- Fan Side
Both flywheel on mine and his cart came roght off with the puller. Havnt had to much that was a pain on either cart. Just wanted to see if anyone else had the something with there seal as the last cart didn't have this lip.
