Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
That's a nice looking cart. I have seen some G 1's with the same setup !

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
I am thinking a kit but not sure. The other ones I have come across looked really well too.

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
alright next question is or has anyone ever had any success is quelling the noise of these 2 strokes
as in a more restrictive muffler because that must be the only answer |

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
I've seen some of the Harley cart guys (Those darn things are LOUD, it's hard to talk to the person beside me when driving mine) use dynamat "peel and stick" type sound deadener on the underside of the rear body. It is said to work well, a lot of the loud comes from the engine and exhaust noise reverberating off the shell of the body, and not actually from the exhaust itself. I'd avoid messing with the exhaust at all costs, two stroke exhaust systems differ greatly from their four stroke counterparts.

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
If you cover underbody with material as mentioned above this will make a difference. I have it on mine that looks to be stock and have heard others without, and they are louder.

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
X2 On "dont mess with the exhaust", that is unless you want to mess with the intake at the same time, that would also require re jetting. These types of mods are usually done for performance, and typically make the engine louder. One of the reasons yamaha got away from 2-cycle was noise. Try the sound deadner. You can get stick-on foil backed foam sound deadener for G22 from yamaha, it could be used on a G1 no problem, and prob cheaper than dynamat.

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
The material on my carts looks like nothing more the the egg crate looking foam you can buy for a mattress. Official material can be bought or ordered through auto parts stores.

Re: Exactly what is this Yamaha
Yeah, 2 pre cut panels that meet in the middle at the shifter. I can get yall part numbers tomorrow. I actually keep them in stock for use on all yamahas. Can easily be cut with scissors to fit pretty much anywhere.
