Where is the "back-up" buzzer located on 1989 EZGO Gas
I took the seat off and directly behind the RNF handle is a plate with wiring going to it and below that and to the right is a box with 2 wires running into it. I can't tell where the sound is coming from. If the battery cables are connected, the sound is continuous. No key needed. Have no clue how to get to the buzzer and "disconnect" so I can try to work on it without a continuous shrieking.
I added a picture. The plate is what you mainly see and the "box" is just to the right and below the plate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks KingB84 |

The second black wire coming from your key switch leads to the buzzer.
It should only activate when it is in reverse. If the buzzer is sounding in all directions, your microswitch is stuck. |

Re: Where is the "back-up" buzzer located on 1989 EZGO Gas
Thanks. After pulling the muffler off earlier today, I could see a wire going into the right area. Still couldn't see a beeper, but gave a little tug on the wire and it came out. As you can see from the picture, there is a red and a black wire coming from the ignition area. I didn't think either of those went to the beeper, but I'll check that tomorrow. Cart seems to be running fine and no continuous beeping. Hopefully, with your hint I now know TWICE as much as I knew when today began.

Is the microswitch behind that plate as well?
Thanks KingB84 |

Re: Where is the "back-up" buzzer located on 1989 EZGO Gas
Thanks for the effort cowboy. I actually need schematics that look like a map to help me. By map, I mean everything in its actual place. The "beeper" in this one is down and away from the FNR area. The wire that I disconnected was right beside the beeper itself. The plate blocked off my view, so I don't know what it was plugged into. I definitely took a screen pic of this for future possible use. I'll keep trying to find some wiring on goog. Sad to say for my level it needs to be pretty simple.
Thanks for everything, KingB84 |

I just typed a nice long answer, and it disappeared before I could hit enter.
The short version is that the dashed lines in the schematic are showing you that the 2 microswitches are located within the FNR switch. There is a large rotating cam that activates them. |

Re: Where is the "back-up" buzzer located on 1989 EZGO Gas
Thanks guys! I did see something rotating behind the plate when I was moving the FNR handle. I'm assuming there's no simple way to get it "unstuck". I suppose it can become sort of gummy back there. I believe the same sort of thing happened to a friend's cart in regards to the ignition switch "shorting" out because of lack of continuity. If pulling the wire doesn't have any ill effects, I have to go with that for now.
Well done, KingB84 |

That one microswitch does nothing but operate the buzzer. I yanked the wire off of mine.
I work on noisy jets all day. The last thing I needed was more noise at home. |
