Removing Carb on 2004 TXT
Figured i'd ask this question in its own thread as my other thread has migrated from problem to problem. I have everything sorted out now except i do not know how to get the choke/throttle assembly out easily so i can then slide the carb off. I cannot find any vids on it and was hoping there was an easy way to do it without taking off the entire air filter assembly. Thanks in advance!

Re: Removing Carb on 2004 TXT
The throttle assembly you just pull the rod off the ball stud on the carb. The choke you may need to drill the rivits out of the top plate if you still have one, then the choke cable gets undone by loosening the Philips screw and pulling the cable out. If you are taking the entire carb off you have to remove the air filter assembly. It doesnt take long to do; just two bolts on the ignition coil bracket and four nuts on the inside of the box.

Re: Removing Carb on 2004 TXT
Thanks for the tips.
Don't you have to take the starter off also to get to the bolts in the air filter assembly? I have the canister type air filter. |
