Does it sputter if you hit full throttle from a standing start, or not until the rpms come up?

If I hit it hard it it stays at 500 rpm ish. If I floor it after 500 rpm it it will stutter at full. We just back gov way down and got no sputter with lower rpms, by ear. How do people remove gov and not have rev problem. I have read other posts about removal and they do not mention rev limiter.

You can swap in an ignitor from a G9. It doesn't have a rev limiter. Same motor.

Broken primary clutch weight. Looks like I will be buying a new primary.
Inside bell housing are only a few small dents, must have happened just before we started mods. That is when cutting out started.

Feel the thickness of the sheave with your thumb and fore finger, if it feels thin, (about to wear through) I'd talk to Plowman for his primary!!

Otherwise, you can replace one weight, but up you can afford it I'd replace all three!!

Last I looked it was $90 for a set of 3 weights. They take a LONG time to wear out though, you can sell them/the clutch if you buy an aftermarket clutch later. But the G9 clutch works pretty well on a stock motor with a few mods to the cvt.

Sheave feels about 1/8 maybe even 3/16 thick. K-Mart (son) looked up online and read life expediency for weights is around a year, depending on use. My use will be fast for 1/2 mile runs on weekends so I do not think that is an issue. My issue is that I believe this job is beyond my pay scale. We can change the clutch out but to change the weights with out a press for the pins is intimidating.

Very easy!! Just use a torch to lightly heat each Allen screw (loosens the lock tight) Then unscrew each Allen. And weight last almost a lifetime!! Heat each screw about 2 or 3 secs!!

Had the same thing happen to my g2 last summer. I replaced all three weights. Ive heard the stock primary is better than the aftermarkets. Hardest part was breaking the Allen screws loose. You'll need a clutch removal tool (long bolt with shoulder threads).
