Shouldn't I be going faster?
I'd like to get some input on how fast my cart should be going. Currently it barely reaches 21 mph by my GPS.
It's a 2001 Club Car DS IQ. It has an Alltrax DCX400 and a 200 amp solenoid. I recently added 2 gauge cables throughout. It's not lifted, running on 18.75 diameter tires. When it's on jack stands I can spin the rear wheels by hand with no brake drag. It does have a full windshield. The battery measurements after a charge are: 8.52 8.47 8.43 8.46 8.42 8.65 50.9 total I was running stock steel wheels and golf course tires before I went to the new wheels and tires, and was at 20 mph. Even before I swapped out the original controller for the Alltrax I was at 18 mph with the speed code 4. The controller definitely makes it accelerate quicker, but how do I get more speed? Do I need a new motor? |

Re: Shouldn't I be going faster?
I think that's good for stock motor when they are meant to run 12-14. U can increase tire size or high speed motor. Others will have more ideas

Re: Shouldn't I be going faster?
You will need a faster motor - capable of higher rpms.

Re: Shouldn't I be going faster?
IMO that is fast enough for a fairly stock cart with only rear brakes.
