G22 with 25's?
Wonder how difficult it would be to put 25's on a 22? Got the 6" spindle about to put on. What else would be needed? Two inches? How? Specifically on the front.

Re: G22 with 25's?
The new spindles will push the tires forward and outward. You'd have to eyeball how much the difference is.
G22, with 22's. I can get the measurement between the tire and rocker later today. |

Re: G22 with 25's?
Wouldn't you have to extend the rear swing arm also?
Is there a write up about doing that ? With 23" on my g29 it rubs, plastic parts were cut to clear them |

Re: G22 with 25's?
Most of the time its the rear that does not fit. To do 25s right on a lot of yamaha you have to move the cradle back to clear the rocker (or you might trim the rocker and still have to move cradle, either way usually have to move it to center the wheel in well anyway because the height of lift needed to fit 25s moves the tire forward, and then usually move it down also to relieve all the angle you have on the engine mount.) and then you have to remove the rear bumper mounts, and rebuild them to clear if you keep the stock bumper. Even with 22-23s its common to cut and tie back the plastic wheel well some to clear in particular if you put a lot of weight on the cart like a dump box or rear seat.
That said even with cut secondary and umax a stock engine will groan with 25s but be ok on flats. It will look completely boss I have no doubt about that. I always wanted to move to 25s on my cart and now with a clone in it I can, but I keep playing with the clone and clutches instead mostly because its cheaper than a new set of wheels and tires lol....but would have been great to buy 25s in the first place I just didn't know back then. |

Re: G22 with 25's?
Well, went with 23's. With the lift, my 24's from the G16 fit pretty well. You'd need to trim inside the wheel wells, but with the Jakes HD spring kit, nothing else will rub!

Re: G22 with 25's?
My 22s measure 23, never had a complaint with them they have performed great. Buy hey 25s are cool. It would have been a lot more work to move the cradle had I done it, as it was I made and welded up the whole lift when there were none. The first one was a lot of engineering and trial time.
