Purchase a Ds or Precedent

Need any advice given , Have chance to buy a 2008 Ds fe290 or for an extra 700 get a 2011 precedent fe350. Any on going issues or reliability problems . Thank you

recently got an 08 DS with FE290 and guys here have been great, no complaints, just cleaning it up and tuning it up,. once i get done with the 29 can focus more on the 08 DS

the 290 and 350 are great engines. look at everything, condition, maintenance, and what body style suits you

I don't care too much for the presidents, but I do like the Fe 350.....
But if the fe290 is in good shape, it would be a tough call....
I had an Fe 290, that I drove to hellll and back!!!! The thing refused to die, until my son sank it in the Gulf of Mexico....

All in what you like. I'm partial to the DS. In this situation I would look at overall condition.

The ds is much stronger frame prec front end are junk 290 way better than a 350 on not wearing out and no difference in power.we sold both engines new and could not tell the diff. In preforance

Thank you all for your posts cart is staying stock using it for campground tooling around . Going this Saturday to pick up one of them .

drive em both, like you will use them. look them over inside, outside, upside down.
see how they have been maintained. get what you like and are happy with

buy both so you have a spare :)

I am new to the whole golf cart arena, but I stopped and talked to one of the guys at my local club car dealer and he said that given a choice, he would take a DS over a prescedent anytime.
Certainly that would apply if both carts were similar in condition. He said the frame was a better frame, the 290 engine was very close to the 350 and hardly a noticeable difference.
He said when maintained, the DS will go nearly ever. And he mentioned that parts are a bit cheaper for the DS and easily available. He said there are more After market parts for the DS too but that precedent was almost catching up since it’s a newer model.

Just wanted to pass along what seems to be consistent with others who are posting to this thread.
