Default 3800 RPM ok?

Replaced a bad rpm limiter. The cart is now going 19mph prior was 15mph. Installed tachometer and am hitting 3850RPM at full throttle.

Looking around seeing that 2700 is closer to what it should be. Would the RPM limiter be faulty?

I don’t mind the extra speed but down want to damage the cart.

Should cut at 3800 with a functioning limiter , did you hook up the brown wire on the bolt for the bracket on the limiter ? and did you use a genuine Kawasaki part, if not you’ll revisit the issue with cheap parts.

The FE290 is alright up to about 4200-4400 rpm and you can hit that pretty consistent without doing harm , the FE350 a smidge more, I’ve got an FE290 with the governor adjusted and still utilize the factory limiter and it runs 21, but I’m on a larger tire, I turn about 3650 with a load on flat ground with no issues.

Returning to your issue unless you’ve adjusted the pedal travel by messing with the linkage or messing with the cable at the black box with the micro switches changing a limiter solely in itself wouldn’t make the car gain rpm.

I did hook up the ground.

It is very possible my past feeding was wrong and maybe past owner adjusted the governor or something. If being a 3900ish rpm is not going to hurt anything, I am not going to worry about it.

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate having a good group to go to for questions.

I run mine as high as 4300 rpm @ 27mph with a switch installed on the Rev Limiter ground. I try and keep it around 4000 rpm and 25mph for constant cruising though
