Largest tire on standard rim

Hey guys, Shawn here from Oz, modifying an 89 DS Club Car into a utility vehicle for our archery club. I was under the impression that on the standard 7” rim I could fit 22*11-8. But the local guy has said they would come off the rim. Have put my own lift on it as the cost to get a lift down here is more than the lift itself. Am I correct or do I need to look at a new set of wheels to go to the larger 22’s. Thanks

On the stock wheel, that’s too wide. Don’t think they’ll come off the wheel but the sidewalls will end up getting cut because they’ll be pulled in so far. You really need at least a 9” wide wheel for an 11” wide tire.
Stock wheels are maybe 7” wide.
A 20x10x8 tire will fit the stock wheels, but that’s about as big as you can go.

Otherwise you need to find some 10” wheels if you want to fit the wider tires.

I disagree with FairTax. I have four 22.5x10x8 tires on 8x7 wheels. Been on the cart for 5+ years and lots of regular use.

I don't think that 11" wide tires would be that much of a stretch (literally).

Obviously they are staying on the beads so yup, that works
