89 Club Car DS Carryall compression test
Ok, moving on to the next subject, i performed a compression test on my FZ340(KF-82) and the results were...when i depressed the accelerator just enough to turn the motor(dry), i got a consistent 75 lbs, and when i pushed the pedal to the floor(wet) it went up to 100 lbs. How does that compare with acceptable levels of compression for that motor?

Re: 89 Club Car DS Carryall compression test
Seems alright to me for a 29 year old motor. Don’t know much about the KF motors, but a Wet compression test is done by squirting oil into the cylinder.
Compression testing should always be done with the throttle plate wide open. Too many variables for a closed throttle test to be considered accurate. |

Re: 89 Club Car DS Carryall compression test
Cool. I have a manual that came with the cart that says the compression should be 100 psi, but I didn’t know which was the right reading. With the throttle at wide open, my reading was 100, so not bad I guess.
