What is this connector on my G16 Limo?
I just picked up a 1997 G16A 6 seat cart. After going through the owners and service manuals, I can't seem to figure out what this part is. It's right by the choke and shifter, and the back has a cable running out of it that leads to a loose end in the engine bay.
I also found a broken choke knob in one of the cup holders that looks like it might've broken off from there. |

If the OEM choke is hooked up and operational, maybe it was sort of hand throttle? Not factory, for sure...

looks to me like that maybe WAS the original choke lever, it froze/quit working and someone added a second one on when that failed. OR when they did the limo conversion it wasn't long enough so the added a new choke cable that was, and left that one alone for whatever reason (seized bolt or something perhaps)

Re: What is this connector on my G16 Limo?
I don't know about the G16 specifically, but most cars are built with a knockout in the body next to the shifter. On electric ones, there's a bezel with the charger. On gas models, they use the same cutout for the choke bezel and cable. That way one body is compatible for gas and electric.
I'm thinking the choke knob you found came from that hole. Which one is factory, doesn't really matter much at this point. But when people do the limo conversion, it's anybody's guess really. To me it looks like the choke cable by the shifter is shiny and new, and this one looks aged like it was the original before the original cable fell apart. |

The choke to the right of the shifter is the stock one. Yamaha choke and carb cables attach with a pin and clip, not what's on the other cable. The G14 gas has an air intake in that general area.
The 2nd cable is only so long. What does it reach? |

I was going to say what Dave said, the factory choke cable connects to the carb with a pin and clip, not the attachment shown.

That's a good point about the attachment bit. Are you aware of any other engine component that would use that kind of connector? |

Nope. Nothing from the factory will attach to that.
