Default Jerky start 1997 CC Gas

I apologize in advance but I couldn't find using the search tools, plus I'm new to Buggies. Recently purchased a clean 1997 CC gas DS, however when I hit the gas pedal in either F or R there is no slow start. It jerks once hard then runs great. I believe that the previous owner adjusted the governor to increase speed b/c I am at 15MPH. I am going to slow the governor back down to about 11MPH. My 2001 CC gas engine starts as I hit the gas but does not move until I engage further. My 2001 seems right. Any suggestions on the "once jerk" on the 1997? Thank you all in advance.

sounds like the pedal rod was adjusted so that once you touch the pedal it engages. check the pedal linkage rod and the adjustment inside hte black box, sure they tweaked it to the max to get the few mph out.

if you look at the stickie Speeding up your Club Car and jsut do it in reverse

Yep need a little slack in there. If not too tight then they may have the idle setting to far in. With the key off so the cart won't start, hit the go pedal and see when the throttle linkage on top of the carb moves. If it moves as soon as you touch the pedal the linkage is too tight. If the pedal travels some before it moves the idle is probably in too far..

Thank you both so much. Adjusted the pedal rod inside the box and all is well.
