Default 1989 e z go gas

I have replaced all of the wiring on this cart and most of the electrical components. After reassembling everything, i think i have something wired wrong. The wire from D- to my solenoid is heating and burning. The igniter has a blue and red to the engine, along with an orange to the coil and a yellow to the solenoid. But there is also a black from the igniter that I don’t know where it is to go. Possibly to the regulator? As it says at the title Lin this is an 89 e z go and i have yet to find any manuals for it, so i feel i am shooting in the dark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the full 89 manual. Each chapter is broken down into a pdf. https://app.box.com/s/3habgxrtgz

I would suggest moving the D- wire directly to the bottom lug of the FnR switch. That is the main ground.

If you look at chapter 14 page L-22, you will see the black wire from the ignitor connects to D- of the voltage regulator. That means the black wire is also a ground.
