1990 EZGO Marathon Reverse

New to owning a cart and did a lot of research before deciding to post. From what I can gather I have a 1990 EZGO Marathon with a Robin EH29C. This cart has a forward/reverse handle with cables, NOT electric switch. The cables are not hooked up, just zip tied along the frame rail. I do see on the transaxle case (?) a spot where maybe there was a gear select arm? My question is do I have reverse in this cart or am I looking at something the previous owner replaced and not compatible? If there is reverse, can someone tell me how to manually put it in reverse so I can move it around the shop until parts come in, spinning post on top of case makes a noise but does not change direction. Looks to me someone removed a 3PG 2-stroke and installed this 295 4-stroke Robbin's engine.

I don't think they put the 4-stroke in a 1990 ezgo .

To go backward in these old 2-strokes when you put it in reverse the engine turned backward .

If what I see is correct you will have no reverse with this setup.

Got to find a rear axle that came with the 4-stroke engine and make it work .

Like the one StoveBolt showed.

Motor runs great, figured out it is a 4 stroke twin. Just really wish I could find out how this transaxle works or if there is just no reverse.

I'm also looking for the accelerator control box for this cart as it is all rusted out but I can not for the life of me find any useful parts diagram. If anyone could help that would be great.

On a 2 cycle cart the motor runs the opposite direction for reverse, so with the 4 cycle that only runs one direction, you need a transaxle from a 4 cycle that shifts direction... and it's going to take some fab work to install.
