95 gas ClubCar keeps running
When I lift foot off gas pedal it goes to half speed.The only way to stop cart is by turning off with key. Im totally lost on what to do.

Sounds like the engine kill switch is either bad or not hooked up.check to see if both switches are clicking open and closed. They are in the plastic box near the solenoid. The kill switch is the one that has 3 wires on it.

Unless your pedal is sticking. Does the pedal fully return when you let off?

Yes pedal fully returns. We ride in the woods with the carts Ill check under cart to make sure everything is good.

Check the kill switch near the solenoid. It is likely that is where the failure is coming from. When you let off the pedal, that switch is what kills power. If that switch fails, the cart will continue to run until the key is turned off.

Replaced the [2] micro switches. In the plastic box Im thinking it could be wiring is hooked up wrong. Ill just do trial and error with wiring as color coding is different than schematic I have.

Mine is doing the same thing. I can kill engine by turning off key but when you let off gas pedal it keeps running. This cart was wired in a different format than what I have seen in the past. I used schematic and wired accordingly and replaced both top and bottom micro switches and ign switch and solenoid and same thing. Theres a ground somewhere thats not killing the ign. Maybe someone can enlighten my situation?
Replaced S/G and this is a 1995 DS with a 2002 Engine tansaxle transplant. |
