another charger question
I have had this problem the last 4-5 charging cycles. Charger goes great until it reaches a 5-6 amp charge rate. It stays at that rate overnight and still charging the next morning. Voltage check on batteries are great, and cart runs great. Bad charger?? And yes I cleaned all of the connections in the charging cycle. Why won't charger turn off?

Re: another charger question
mine does this too occasionally. i thought it was related to my aging pack, but it did it on the second charge of my new batteries. this last time, the cart was making a buzzing noise kinda like a 80's computer alarm.
anywho, did you check the voltage of the pack? how long did you let it run? how old are your batteries? the manual suggests a failing computer, failing batteries, or arctic weather as the cause. -sj |

Re: another charger question
Same here. My charger will buzz indefinitely every other time I plug it in. Usually it does it a little when it first starts charging, then fades off after 20 minutes or so. I've taken the housing off of the charger and blew everything clean with compressed air. I also monkeyed with the plates, as I have had luck in the past getting chargers to quiet down. None of that did any good. Now, when I plug in the charger, I have to check it after 1/2 hour. If it's still buzzing, I unplug it for a few seconds, plug it back in, and it works fine (quietly). I can rule out failing batteries (they're brand new and show a normal charge on the multimeter), and also arcitc weather - I'm in the southern California Desert! <98 DS 36v>

Re: another charger question
I am having the same problem with my 07 DS 48 volt (6- with the powerdrive II charger. I have let it run for 16 hours and it will not get below 5 amps! Then let it cool down for a few hours and check with my voltage meter to get 51 volts across the pack. Is it normal for your batteries to sound like they are boiling when they are charging? This is my first cart and I am still learning. I have tried a friends charger too and had the same results. The guy I bought the cart from told me the charger got wet and would not cut off but when I tried a friends with same results I don't know what my problem could be.[IMG][/IMG]
