Default How to determine parts for series cart.

Are their other designations for a series cart? When I bought mine I was told it was a series, I know that means that it doesnt have the regen motor. The problem I have is when I look at parts, lift kits for example, I don't see anything designated as a series lift kit. Is a TXT a series? I know a PDS is not.

I did read the stickies, but I still didn't understand which mine might be.

Thanks and please excuse the lack of knowledge.

A TXT Can have three ditterent drive systems PDS , DCS or Series. With a lift kit or other not drive system parts it doesn't matter which drive system you have. Hope this helps.

That does help, I thought a TXT was the equivalent of a model like a PDS.

I understand now that it encompasses all of those carts.

For a speed upgrade, how would you go about finding parts? I am new to this, so the freedom chip, is for a PDS. How would I get more speed from a series?

You could upgrade to a larger controller, forward/reverse switch, solenoid and cables. You could also go 48 volt and upgrade the motor. Several of the vendor sell these parts or combine compatible parts into packages. I used Scottyb @ carts unlimited. Look under sponsors. If you could post some pics of your cart, we could be sure of what you have.

Two ways to get more speed with a series cart.
1. Change final drive ratio. (Taller tires and/or differential gears)
2. Higher voltage. (More batteries in the pack)

Just remember when doing either (or both), that the rest of the drive system has to be compatible with the changes made.

If you have a series cart, only higher voltage will give you more speed. An upgraded controller, cables, solenoid, FNR, etc. WILL give you more speed as you climb hills, but won't do anything for speed on flat roads. Actually, it will keep your buggy from crawling up the hills. I've had a passenger step out of my buggy and walk uphill, to show how slow mine used to be on climbing hills.
