1985 EZ-GO Marathon trailer receiver hitch
I would like to put a receiver and hitch on my ez go to pull a small 4x8 utility trailer with a paddle boat on it or a little john boat. I am not looking to pull it for more than 50 feet at a time or so I just can't carry either boat by myself to the lake.
I am looking for two things: 1) Does anyone know where I can find a receiver hitch for my 1985 cart? 2) Do you think I will need to upgrade my suspension if I am pulling this? Thanks, Dan |

Re: 1985 EZ-GO Marathon trailer receiver hitch
Someone posted about a 2" receiver they purchased from Horrible Freight. It is the type that bolts to the bottom of a step bumper. It seemed to bolt to the rear of the cart with a little reinforcing,,something like rectangular tube to fill a gap if I remember correctly. It didn't have any welding done, just bolted. As far as beefing the rear springs,,I doubt anything needs done for the small items you are pulling. I think a cheap option would be air shocks that fit, then you could pump them up only when needed vs a helper spring or stiffer rears.
