Default What year and model is this?

Hello, I picked this little gem up for cheap. It doesn't have a engine in it.
My plan is to throw a 23HP Subaru motor (653cc).
can someone help me out and tell me what model and year this thing is...
The "ID plate" is located under the passenger side "glovebox"
it reads 770614 I322b45, The body is all metal, no plastic nose piece.
I think it may be GX 444, built in 1977.
what do you think?

According to the serial number it's a 1977 Marathon ... And You may have some issues w the transplant as the rear end on these doesn't "shift" like the newer ones - the engine you have runs backwards to give you reverse - so unless you have a motor that can reverse direction You'll lose reverse gear with the transplant (unless You pop for a new-style rear end, which can be hard to fins and somewhat pricey)

The Subaru Robbin V-twin you got is a great motor. I put one like it in my workhorse.
Sure would be nice if you could find a later model project with a plastic body and shifting differential.

Thanks for the info..
I work for a "Well Known" Welder making Company known as "Big Blue"
headquartered in Appleton, WI.
I scored that brand new Subaru motor missing some linkage (and a parts motor) for $50 through the company...phasing out the subie...going with kohler...
anyway the shaft on the subie is 1" threaded....I want to connect that up to the original 3/4" ( I think ) splined shaft on the EZ GO Read end....
any ideas?
what about getting a lawn mower rear end?
clutch recommendations? (motor is 23hp.) belt or chain?

Torchy now you need to go to the BIG BLOCK fourms.Yes it can be done but you'll need a f/r rearend like 94. I think we'll be happy to help but those guys are SICK over there. Give the a shout and see where it goes from there.
