Newbie with EzGo ST480 Questions
New to the site here and have a couple questions regarding a 2004 EZGO ST480 i recently purchased.
The cart feels like it slips in and out of gear sometimes. I will be taking off and then the engine will rev followed by a clunk and then it grabs again. I did a search and it appears that my drive clutch might be sticking. How do i go about cleaning/un-sticking this drive clutch? Second issue. My locking diff doesnt work. I can shift the lock/unlock lever at the console but nothing happens. It has the cable attached at both ends but nothing moves (cable inlcuded) when i move the lever. Do i need a new cable??? Also, if i manually grab the lever at the rear end and push up on it, i hear/feel a click. Does that mean the diff is engaged? It will only move about 1/2" up. When i let go, it falls back down. Does this seem normal? Sorry for the long first post but i need some help! Thanks in advance -Ryan |

Re: Newbie with EzGo ST480 Questions
Sounds to me you need a new cable, try holding the diff lever and rolling the cart, most will not go into lock until one or both tires start rotating

Re: Newbie with EzGo ST480 Questions
More than likely you need a new diff lock cable. The arm on the transaxle will only move about a half inch. It slides a collar over the end of the axle to lock it. As far as the clutch goes I would have to say a cleaning a little lube and some new slides and you will be good to go. Hope it helps.
