Default Stereo wiring issue

Need some help here. I just installed my new Elite Dash on my 2010 Precedent. I have both the light kit and the stereo head unit spliced into the power from the reducer with both having their own toggle switches. When I turn on the lights it will reset the power on the head unit. Is there any way to avoid this with this wiring set up?

You have to have the (usually) yellow wire stay hot for the memory in the head unit. Not sure if you have that or not, if not that would most likely be your fix.

Do you have the reducer itself hooked up to a toggle switch?

When you turn on the lights it causes the voltage output from the converter to momentarily sag (drop). The stereo cannot continue to operate and it drops out until the converter stabilizes the voltage again. What is the rated output in amps of the converter you are using?

Thanks guys, Gorno confirmed my suspicions and sadly the previous owner installed the converter so i'm not sure what the output rating is. As long as it isn't going to hurt anything I will just leave it this way for now.

On another note I saw that tahoe dawg had a particular digital SOC meter he recommeneded. Does anyone know where i can get one?
