Default 2003 speed chip question

I am looking at buying a 2003 club car. What do I need to know about it to determine if there is an option to upgrade the speed. It is a 48 volt with new batteries last summer and a rear seat kit priced well so I am interested but I want to research before I buy. What costs are involved for the speed upgrade?

First off for club cars, there are no speed "chips". If it is an IQ cart, you can pay to upgrade to speed code 4, which is the fastest setting.
If its a series, you must upgrade controller, motor, etc to gain speed.

If it is an IQ cart you can also install a new magnet under the speed controller to get a faster speed.
