Default charging

ok guys here's what I got .IT have an 89 ezgo marathon I got doin some tradin and its my first golfcart I know very little about them and I didn't know what I was getting well come to find out someone changed the motor to a 79 down 2 stroke with an internal starter generator and I don't think its charging the battery can someone tell me how to check to see if it is or isn't charging.

Jack back end up so it won't runaway with you. Start it up and use your multimeter or any volt meter you have and check voltage across battery posts. You should have around 14V at high rpm. However anything above 12.5 should work.
