Default Rear Fender molding question

I am getting ready for paint. I noticed the rear fender molding along the edge has some type of plastic inserts holding it on. When I reinstall the molding what is the best method to reattach this? Should I try and fine those plastic inserts or use bolts & nuts?

I am guessing you are referring to the black fender scuff guard, that is on the top of the fender. and its truly up to you, either will work. but if you want to use the actual rivets that called for in the manual, here is the part number for you. 16816-G2 obviously you would need 4 for each guard.

oh you are talking about fender flares.....and those were add on's, for the most part....but the same applies, you could either use rivets or small nuts/bolts, whatever "floats your boat".

O Reilly's autoparts have the rivets like Nuke was referring to.I bought a bag of 100. 3/4 inch head 1/4 inch body. length was an inch I think.
I don't know about the fender flares.
