Re: RXV Torque Setting
That is understandable as T-1275's only have 150 AH or less than 1-hour run time to 50% DoD. I suspect that is why EZ-GO switched to to 8 volt batteries to get more AH's under the seat.
With 12 volt batteries I bet users are discharging them way too deeply, thus killing them quicker than they are used too. |

Re: RXV Torque Setting
So the 2010 RXV I am getting has 4-12 volt batteries. Is this bad? Should I get the 2010 - 48 or 36 volt TXT instead?

Re: RXV Torque Setting
Very easy to convert a RXV to 6x 8v. When its time for new batteries, remove 4 old batts, unbolt & remove old battery tray (4 bolts), bolt in new tray, install 6x 8v batts, hook up new cables, DONE. So dont let that stop you from trying or buying a RVX. There is not much price difference to get 8v batts instead of 12v. Also newer RXV has this done from the factory.

Re: RXV Torque Setting
The "run-time" is "top of the industry" with a set of batteries in good shape. The brake issue is rarer these days (the main problem one has been discontinued for years). The only problem with rxv is that it is a little trickier to diagnose without factory tools.

If it were me, perhaps CGTECH can answer, is I would replace the 12 volt batteries with Trojan Ranger-160 if the RXV has the clearance for the added height of the battery. The name is a bit misleading as it implies it is a 160 AH battery. It is a 8 volt 204 AH battery. The 160 is the run time in minutes at 56 amps, compared to 102 minutes for the T-1275. So on paper the Ranger should give you about 40% more run time, and last a year or more longer. |
