Re: 2001 EZGO TXT - new solenoid wont run
Here you go. This is testing J3 pins 3-4.

Your meter looks good. Always start on the highest setting if you don't know what your measuring.

Your Voltage is waaay low if you're looking for pack voltage and the connections need some attention.

Re: 2001 EZGO TXT - new solenoid wont run
I agree. So if I'm only getting the pack voltage only on those two pins, is the controller shot?
Getting 36.7 from B- to A1 as well |

Quote:
But the only difference is J1 Pin-2 has pack voltage in R and J1 Pin-3 has pack voltage in F. What is the voltage on J1 Pin-4 and J1 Pin-5???????? You state that the batteries are all from 6.4V to 6.8V, so you should have at least 38.4V on J1 Pins 4 & 5. If not, find the missing voltage. Those two pins are where the control and logic power enters the controller and unless those two pins have FULL pack voltage on them, the voltage on the rest of the pins will be wrong also. If you are saying that one test lead is on J3 Pin-3 and the other test lead is on J3 Pin-4, the voltage reading is more or less meaningless. All voltage measurements, unless otherwise stated, are measured with the negative test lead attached to the main negative terminal on the battery pack. Quote:
If you have the correct voltage on the correct pin under the correct conditions, the solenoid ought to click. If it doesn't, the controller Might be bad, but some additional testing needs to be done to determine if, in fact, it is good or bad. B- and A1 are in the high current circuit and you have to get the solenoid to click before transitioning from troubleshooting the solenoid activation circuit to troubleshooting the high current circuit. |

Re: 2001 EZGO TXT - new solenoid wont run
Probably should have said this is bradray77's brother in law. We are working on this together, and he told me to reference this thread and ask for help if needed.
I have not heard the solenoid click at all. I hear a noise come from under the pedal when it is pushed a litter, but I didn't associate it with the solenoid. I have been testing with the black probe on the B- and probing the pins with the red. I'll mess with it again tomorrow. Thanks for your help on this. Learning a lot. |

Re: 2001 EZGO TXT - new solenoid wont run
Figured I would register so there wouldnt be any confusion with bradray77's posts and my own.
Put the cart on charge overnight. Not sure when it cut off but I took readings on all the batteries this am. Looking down on them the batteries read as follows. 6.3 6.2 6.3 6.3 6.3 6.2 Here are the other meter readings. Cart is Set to run, Set in Forward, pedal pressed. Black probe anchored on B-. B- to A1 = 36.1 J1 - 1=0 3=0 4=0 5=0 7=.5 8=0 9=0 10=.5 J3- 1=0 2=0 (flickered .9-.5 then 0) 3=.5 4=29.4 J4- 1=0 2=0 Solenoid - 38.1 on Positive, 36.2 on - Plugged everything back in, Reverse noise works and solenoid does click when pedal is pressed. (I dont think i had everything pushed in tight yesterday. Hope this helps get us closer. |
