Default What diagram do I use? 2000 pds

I bought a used and abused 36V 2000 txt pds for $100. The controller is gone and all I have left is a heat sync. Should it have a tow run switch on the controller?
The F/R switch is down by where your legs would be and it looks like a dcs type. Not sure what diagram I need to follow. I have missing and chopped up wires. What kind of controller did it come with? It has a 2006 motor part 73445g02. Should I convert it to 48V since it needs batteries as well?

Thanks.

I would switch the FnR switch to justa plain rocker like used on the newer PDS or ClubCars wired into a PDS harness and switch to 48 volts.. If it has the original DCS motor they are supposed to have more torque than the PDS but you will need the DCS mapping for the controller

It is a pds motor # . Year 2000 saw the introduction of the PDS cart. The drive system was not the one we are all familiar with. It was a 1 yr production that was dumped for the 2001 PDS we all know today. The motor should work. Just grab a PDS diagram and wire it up that a way.

Can I get rid of the old F/R switch when I get a new controller?

Yes, THat probably best, since you are going to convert to modern PDS. Do it in it's entirety

I'm looking at some old threads it looks like I might need a new wiring harness.
Early 2000 carts that have the f/r switch at knee level will be different?

With a standard PDS wiring diagram you should be able to figure out the connections you need..

Since you have missing and cut-off wires, I'd install a new wiring harness: https://shop.ezgo.com/products/Wire-...h-for-PDS.html
You can find them cheaper, but the link gives you a part number to search for.

Also, can you post some pictures of the by-the-knee type PDS F/R switch assembly?
I want to see the shape of the outer edge of the cam that has bumps or indentations in it to activate or deactivate the two micro switches.

And do some Ohm measurements?
What I'm looking for is which switches are closed in "F" and which switches are closed in "R".

---------
I've got the DCS F/R switch that is used in a DCS cart figured out (One switch closed in F and both closed in R), but that switching sequence won't work with a PDS controller.

A DCS controller defaults to F and switches to R when pack voltage is applied to Pin-4.

A PDS controller essentially defaults to Neutral (no output to Field windings) and switches to F when pack voltage is applied to J1 Pin-3, or R when pack voltage is applied to J1 Pin-2.

I don't believe EZGO redesigned the aluminum cam used in the DCS F/R to only active one switch or the other, and I'm pretty sure the controller used in early 2000 PDS carts is wired the same as the controllers used in post-2000 carts, so they played some games inside the wiring harness to make them work together and I need to know what the switch sequencing of the F/R switch they used is, to reverse engineer what they did.

Thanks.
