Default EZGO 36V Expected Speed

Hi there, brand new here, and I appreciate the help in advance.

First time cart owner, but have a bunch of seat time in my inlaws 03 Yamaha Gas cart.

Just picked up a 2007 EZGO 36V Txt for my son, per our school year grades agreement

Needless to say this cart vs the Yamaha I've had some seat time in is rather disappointing which was sort of expected but I had hoped to at-least break double digits.

Question is, by GPS this cart with a full charge is seeing 7mph. The batteries are 2 years old and other then a back seat, completely stock.

Is this what I can expect for speed out of an electric cart?

Thumbs up Re: EZGO 36V Expected Speed

No, the cart should do 12-15 MPH easy on flat ground. Check your brakes.
If the batteries check good with full voltage which is after a complete charge sitting for 12hrs (no riding) they should read 38.22.
If everything checks out good take the brakes a part and clean and adjust them.
You want the hubs to just go one with a little bit of resistance when putting them back on.
Make sure you tighten the axle nut good and do not back off of it to get the cotter key in.

I'm guessing it's a series drive cart but please confirm or ID the cart using the chart attached.

Batteries are good, terminals are clean, and the brakes are not dragging.

Anything else I should look at?
