Default Textron ezgo no reverse

The cables to the f/r switch on my 1994 ezgo 36v are marked A,B,C,D. Do I check continuity for reverse across C and D?

The are two sets of contacts closed in Reverse. (and in Forward)
The attached schematic show has the high current pat highlighted in red for Forward, so the white arrows would be the current path in Reverse.

IE: C to D and B to A.

Be aware that F/R switches are wired in more than one way.

BTW: Does the solenoid click in Reverse?

Take the switch off that rotates to engage forward or reverse. That is a cam unit and it has copper bus bars and copper flat head contacts inside. Those contacts being old and dirty will cause a loss of power and thus a loss of one direction, and sooner or later a loss of both directions

Must also pay attention to the f&r board the cam rides on. If any contacts are "sunken in" at all, its a gonner.

Last gonner I had I stripped it, flipped the bracket at the top and used it for a reversing contactor mount. Bolted right up and with very little trimming let me use the original FnR cover over it.. SW182 by the way

Yeah, but, the SW202 is the real "HD" one for big golf cart use, they are huge.
