Default Trojan good batteries or not?

So I'm replacing my batteries and I've had Trojans t105 for seven years without any trouble.. I'm upgrading motor with plumb quick bandit and I have a axe altrax 300 amp controller with 2 ga thru out .. I'm getting mixed reviews on the Trojan batt .. Some say they will melt posts etc etc.. I don't know if I'm hearing these things because they can sell me another brand and make more off them etc.. Or they're truly having trouble with them?? Any honest opinions would help...

I would check out Crown ... Very good rep. .. Although Trojans are good as well

I think crowns are better .. Personal choice

Trojan T-105 are rated #1 or #2 in the golf industry (depends who you ask & no pun intended). I do not feel that a Trojan has any more likelyhood of a melted terminal than any other battery. The real cause of melted terminals always comes down to one of three things (2 of those are installer error). #1- incorrect torque setting when tightening terminal nut. #2- bad battery cable causing heat at terminal. #3- failure to check terminal nuts regularly, and a few weeks after installing new batteries. No big mystery here, lead melts at the same temp, no matter what brand the battery is.

Take proper care of them and they will work out just fine.... Trojan and Crown batteries are the two most highly regarded batteries in the cart and commercial world...

Everything you need to know: http://www.trojanbattery.com/pdf/Tro...UsersGuide.pdf

In the installation section they address post meltdowns.

I have a set of Trojan T-875s from 2004 that are still running, if that helps

Wow, you are a real "die-hard" (as opposed to cheap-___). I have seen several sets of 10+ year old trojans, but im sure they werent any where near "18-hole performance" by the time i replaced them. Funny how the sticker/label has changed over the years (and the look on my face when i see the really old ones ). And, yes the trojan guide has tons of good stuff in it (SOC vs. life cycle expectancy is in there too).
