'92 DS-help with re-wiring lights and backup buzzer
Newbie here. Picked up a '92 DS and have converted it to new solid state with Carts Unlimited upgrade kit. Talk about easy! Now have a new 10HP motor, 2G battery cables, and Alltrax controller. My question now is what is the best way to put back/re-wire in the lights and reverse buzzer? Lights look like they are aftermarket add-in. Does anyone have a schematic on how I need to hook in both? Diagrams I have seen are for the old series setup. Is the reverse buzzer as simple as tapping on to the micro switch on F&R and the other wire to ground? With all my new wiring clean and simple I want to wire in the lights and buzzer the right way. Also bought a turn signal kit as I plan to make it street legal.

Are you able to see this post anyone!? Wondering if my post is being seen by members!
Someone here must have converted their DS and figured how to re-wire their reverse buzzer!? I have searched but not found an answer. |

Re: '92 DS-help with re-wiring lights and backup buzzer
Thank you Crash! Much appreciated. I will order a converter.
So when it was original (not solid state) I'm curious to know how the lights worked without one!? |

Re: '92 DS-help with re-wiring lights and backup buzzer
I'd guess that when it was original it had six 6 volt batteries and the lights were connected to two in a series. That's how my brother's 82 DS is.

Re: '92 DS-help with re-wiring lights and backup buzzer
Well I'm going to do this right and will most likely want other 12v accessories so I ordered a converter. For the reverse buzzer, which I need as I'm making this street legal and registered will reguire an inspection and I'm sure I will need a reverse signal. To do that it will require that I switch out my single micro switch F&R to a dual micro switch F&R. Ordered a new, better F&R switch. ANything worth doing is worth over doing, right?

Re: '92 DS-help with re-wiring lights and backup buzzer
I added a separate 12 volt battery for accessories.
Lights, stereo, and USB outlets. |
