Default Issue with 2006 ez go electric cart

Hey everybody! New to the forum. Just bought a 2006 ezgo electric and have an issue right off the bat. Batteries seem to be in good shape, this cart has very little use. Basically all the electrical works fine, headlights output strong steady beam, but when I hit the gas pedal, it makes the clicking noise that it usually makes, but doesn't go back or forth. If I hit it in reverse, it will make the buzz sound, but won't move. Any suggestions of what it might be? Thanks!

is your cart a Series or Sepex drive system? its were we need to start before the trouble shooting can begin. if you don't know which it is, check this out and it will give you the info you need to determine which it is.

oh and btw.........CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Hey Sir Nuke, thanks for the welcome! My cart doesn't have a run/tow switch, so I'm going to assume its a series.

IN a series cart the F&R is suspect. Try slamming the shifter F&R a couple times or hold the gas down and pul back & forth on the handle?

No go?
Inspect the rear side of the F&R for signs of heat = color difference between studs, cable cover wrinkle? Try tightening the 9/16 center tension nut 1/4 turn at a time....

could it be the microswitch on the pedal or the F/R switch? after reading some people with similar problems, could it be that?

I just went through something similar. It was the microswitch in the pedal box.

Do you have a digital volt meter? If not you should get one, most helpful. Can you determine what your total pack voltage is and what individual battery voltage is?

dont have a digital volt meter, but im going to check on the batteries to see what charge they are outputting. is it normal for the cart to do this if the batteries are at a low level? it doesnt even move forward or reverse, at all.
