Re: 08 PDS wont run
Checking motor voltage is about step 37.
Step 1 is the question: Does the solenoid click? You have to have battery pack voltage on every wire highlighted in red on the attached schematic to tell the controller to activate the solenoid. |

Re: 08 PDS wont run
Is it an Alltrax or Curtis control?

More importantly, the solenoid clicks. That narrows the scope of where the problem is to the high current circuit and the throttle circuit. Have you tried putting it into diagnostic mode? It might give you an error code. The text at the bottom of the attached label tells you how to get into diagnostic mode and lists the error codes. ----- Also, measure between the controller's B- and A1 terminals. When the pedal is pushed just far enough for the solenoid to click, you should read FULL battery pack voltage. If not, there is a problem with the high current cables/connections, or the solenoid contacts, or the motor. If so, push the pedal to the floor and the voltage should drop to Zero. If not, either the throttle circuit (ITS) or controller is bad. |

Re: 08 PDS wont run
I would pull and inspect motor. Disconnect battery pack first, and tape loose wires at motor.

Re: 08 PDS wont run
Be sure to flip Run/Tow to Tow before disconnecting any wires/cables!!!!!!!!!!!!
There isn't much in the high current circuit of a PDS. Just the solenoid contacts, the armature and a a few cables. For the moment, just measure the voltage from B- on the controller to A1 and then B- to A2 on motor when the solenoid clicks. It should read the same (almost) on both. If they both read about Zero, check the solenoid. |
