Per this chart, they are starting at ~90%.

Batteries 3-6 (older worldwide) are showing as starting in the ~75% range on the chart.

I'm tempted to save $200 and just pick up 4 new ones... I likely just get interstate batteries at Costco. Anyone have any experience with these?

Match amp-hours, IF battery 1 is good.

Thanks.
I didn't test 2 through 6 while driving, as 2 should behave like 1... And 3-5 should be like 6.

What should I expect a good 6v the battery to draw to when under load (driving uphill)? Certainly it will never be much higher than 6v for that instant...

You really need to load test all 6 batteries individually and all 6 batteries as a pack to determine their health.

If the batteries are at 100% state of charge, then voltage drops of up to 1 volt per battery could be seen at full acceleration up a very steep hill ... and less under lower loads.

In some cases, one defective battery (with a shorted cell) could be dropping 2 to 4 volts ... thus that is why you need to load test each battery.

1: 6.36
2: 6.37
3: 6.27
4: 6.23
5: 6.21
6: 6.22
Are these battery voltages after being fully charged and allowed to stabilize (without use and with charger disconnected) for 24 hours? If not, then you should give them a fresh charge and allow them to stabilize for 24 hours to determine their actual state of charge.

If the above voltages are fully charged and stabilize, you would get the following:
Each battery before:
1: 6.36 - 98% state of charge
2: 6.37 - 100%
3: 6.27 - 84%
4: 6.23 - 76%
5: 6.21 - 74%
6: 6.22 - 75%

Some batteries are definitely weaker than others. At a full charge (after 24 hr stabilization), a healthy battery should be at or above a 100% state of charge (6.37 v for a 6 volt battery).

The attached battery chart has some more descriptive information on it with respect to State of Charge.

Values reported as "before" were immediately after unplugging from the charger.

I'll try to test again after it's been off charger for 12-24 hours.
